On September 17, 2009, Avenida Guadalupe was awarded the Mayor's Best NCR Award at the 2009 HACER (Honor, Award, Celebrate, Evolve, Renew) Gala. The Breakfast Gala was held as the premier event during the 2009 Community Development Summit. Five of our local businesses also received awards: Alamo Federal Credit Union won the Business of the Year and Partnership of the Year; Community First won for Community Excellence; Agora Ministries won for Volunteers of the Year; and Giovanni's won the the Citibank ($10K) Business Improvement Grant. OPERATION FACELIFT
Operation Facelift Façade Improvement Grants are only available in NCR Corridors. These grants provide matching funds (get reimbursed up to $15,000) for permanent façade improvements that help reverse deterioration of commercial structures and attract new business and private investment.
